1. 1st Indian Selected for Boltzmann Medal:

Deepak Dhar has been selected for this medal for his contribution to the field of statistical physics.
He became the first Indian to be awarded the medal.

2. Cabinet Approval:

The Union Cabinet approved FDI of up to 20 per cent under the automatic route in LIC.
The current FDI policy which permits 74 per cent foreign investment under the automatic route in the insurance sector does not apply for the LIC.
Now the cabinet has made an amendment to the FDI policy of up to 20%.

3. OCEANS 2022:

IIT Madras and the National Institute of Ocean Technology( NIOT), Chennai have jointly organised for the first time in India the OCEANS 2022 conference in Chennai.
Theme: Inspire-Innovate-Sustain.
It highlighted how the UN decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable development is attempting to reduce the impacts of climate change through renewable energies.

6. The University Grants Commission has appointed Professor Bhushan Patwardhan as chairman of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC), Bengaluru.

7. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia destroyed the largest plane in the world called ” Ukraine’s Antonov-225 cargo plane (Mriya)”.
