1. Bangladesh PM confers scholarships on Indian Students:
- Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina conferred the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Student scholarship.
- The first ever scholarship was conferred on the descendants of soldiers, and officers of the Armed Forces of India who were martyred or critically wounded during the historic Liberation war of 1971.
- It was conferred on 100 students of class 10 and 100 students of class 12.
2. Healthcare in India is expected to reach $50 billion by 2025:
- Telemedicine is expected to reach $5.5 billion by 2025
- The prime objective of the government is to reduce import dependence from 80% to below 30% in the next 10 years.
- And also ensure a self-reliance quotient of 80% in med tech through Make in India with SMART Milestones.
3. ‘Manthan’ Conference:
- Held in Bengaluru.
- Organised by the Ministry of Road and Transport Highways.
- It aims at anchoring discussions across multiple issues and opportunities in the roads, transport and logistics sector.
- Theme – “Ideas to Action: Towards a smart, sustainable, road infra, mobility and logistics ecosystem’
4. ‘SETU’ Programme:
- Supporting Entrepreneurs in Transformation and Upskilling
- Launched in San Francisco, US by the union minister Piyush Goyal
- It aims to connect startups in India to US-based investors and start-up ecosystem leaders with mentorship and assistance in various areas.
5. Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator:
- The ISRO has successfully tested the Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator on a Rohini-300 sounding rocket from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station, Thiruvananthapuram.
- It is a technique used for an atmospheric entry payload
- It serves to decelerate an object plunging down through the atmosphere.
- It is designed and developed by ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
6. National Eye Donation Fortnight:
- Observed from 25th August to 8th September every year.
- Theme 2022 – “Eye Never Die, Donate Eye”
- Aims to create mass public awareness about the importance of eye donation and to motivate people to pledge their eyes for donation after death.
7. Eastern Economic Forum:
- The 7th Eastern Economic Forum was held in Vladivostok, Russia.
- It is established for the purpose of encouraging foreign investment in the Russian far east.

- India is the 1st country to open a consulate in Vladivostok.
8. Committee to moderate gas price – headed by Dr Kirit S Parikh:
- To review the formula to formalise the pricing of gas produced by companies.
- The committee aims to lower inflation and promote the use of cleaner fuel.
- It will suggest a “fair price to the end consumer”
9. ‘Bank on Wheels’ in Gujarat – HDFC Bank:
- It is a rural banking business.
- It can go to distant villages positioned 10-25km from the closest department for additional accessibility.
10. UEFA Award 2021/2022:
- 2021/2022 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) award ceremony was held in Istanbul, Turkey.
