Among the States, Kerala (1st), followed by Tamilnadu and Himachal Pradesh in the 2nd position.
3rd position – Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Among the Union Territories, Chandigarh was ranked 1st, followed by Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry in the 2nd place and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the 3rd.
India is now behind all South Asian nations except Pakistan.

2. World Wealth Report 2022:

Released by Knight Frank.
India ranked 3rd in billionaire population globally.
1st U.S ; 2nd – China
Among the Indian Cities, Bengaluru tops the position.
2nd – Delhi; 3rd – Mumbai
Asia continues to be ahead of other regions of the world.

3. Telangana tops the country in terms of Per Capita Net State Domestic Product at Current Prices. It succeeded other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu.

4. World Hearing Day:

5. World Wildlife Day:

Observed on 3rd March
Theme 2022: Recovering key species for ecosystem restoration.

6. Global Treaty on Plastic Trash:

The United Nations has agreed to start negotiating a world-first global treaty on Plastic pollution.
UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi unanimously agreed to create an intergovernmental committee to negotiate and finalize a legally binding plastics treaty by 2024.
Less than 10 percent of plastic is recycled and most wind up in landfills or oceans.

7. World Hearing Day:

Observed on 3rd March

8. GOES-T Satellite:

Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite.
Launched by NASA
To forecast weather and hazardous environmental conditions in the Western Hemisphere.

9. Special Jury Award:

In recognition of the significant work done for Ganga rejuvenation.
