2. New Chairman – MPEDA:

Dodda Venkata Swamy has been appointed the new chairman of MPEDA.
MPEDA – Marine Products Export Development Authority
MPEDA is a Statutory body – established in 1972 – under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for the promotion of Marine Products exported from India.

3. New Director – National Institute of Immunology (NII):

Debassisa Mohanty has been appointed
NII – Autonomous research institute
Located in New Delhi
Functions under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology.

4. Govt rules for hiring priests will not apply to Agamic Temples – Madras High Court:

Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious Institutions Employees (Conditions of Service) Rules of 2020, which prescribe eligibility, qualification, and age (18 to 35) for appointment of temple priests, will not apply to temples that had been constructed and governed as per specific Agama Sastras (treatise on temple rituals).
Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice N. Mala also directed the State government to constitute a five-member committee, chaired by retired High Court judge Chockalingam and comprising Madras Sanskrit College executive committee head N. Gopalaswami, to identify temples that had been constructed as per Agama Sastras in the State.

5. Tomato Flu detected among Children in India:

Caused by Coxsackievirus A 16
Belongs to the Enterovirus family.
Symptoms: similar to those of chikungunya which include high fever, rashes and intense pain in the joints.

6. Liberty Medal for 2022:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to be awarded.
To recognize his leadership in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He will be honoured for his heroic defence of liberty in the face of Russian Tyranny.
He is also awarded The Ronald Reagan Freedom Award 2022 and John F.Kennedy Profile in Courage Award 2022

7. India Clean Air Summit 2022:

Held in Bengaluru
Organised by the Centre for Air Pollution Studies and the Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy.
Global experts will discuss an integrated approach to resolving air pollution and climate change.
Theme: “The Right to Life: Citizens at the Centre of Science”.
